He started his successful business career as economic adviser to the Mayor of Belgrade. Most of his professional life he worked in the economic and banking sectors. For a number of years he was at the head of the well known Yugoslav enterprise "Tehnogas" as its General Manager, after which he became President of "Beogradska Banka", the largest bank in Serbia and Yugoslavia.
